WHY? live on BLR 3/24/08

WHY? was lovely enough to make the trek up to Uconn after their fabulous show at BAR in New Haven the night prior and before their show in North Hampton, MA. I had a great time chatting with Yoni, Josiah, Doug and Austin and they had some time to play 3 tracks off their latest album "Alopecia." Check out some pictures and some great footage of two of their three songs "Song of the Sad Assassin" and "By Torpedo or Crohn's."

Band of the Week!

She & Him's new and first album is called Volume One. It is the project of the actress Zooey Deschanel and a BLR fav, M. Ward. Although M. only sings on a few tracks BLR is not disappointed at all. Zooey has a voice and singing style reminicent of Dusty Springfield. As it has been described around the WHUS it is teeth hurting sweet, which I am totally okay with. Go and stream the album at Merge Records and please do enjoy.

Song of Last Week

Its funny how time flies by. It seems like yesterday was last Monday but I did not post a song of the week which is unfortunate for all of the faithful BLR readers. Well last week I was (and of course) still in love with Bon Iver--Skinny Love. Its beautiful and lovely but alas no good youtube video but a blurry live version will do. Anyway, check out his new CD For Emma, Forever Ago and listen to BLR to hear the song.
